Tips for talking with your kids about sensitive issues
When do I start? What should I say? What questions should I answer? If we wait for our children to start asking questions about sensitive topics like drugs and sex, we probably haven't started soon enough. Use the tips below to foster positive communication between you and your child.
- Start early.
- Create an open environment.
- Start conversations with your child.
- Communicate your own values.
- Be patient and listen to your child.
